Trading Strategies

The GTSOSC can be used with virtually any trading strategy, as it simply predicts the market turns. Below are some trading ideas that could be used and links to further information about these strategies.

We use the E-Mini S&P 500 futures to track the profitability of our GTSOSC trading signals but GTSOSC is also suitable for timing other trading techniques which are based on broad index averages such as DJIA futures (DJ) and mini-sized Dow futures (YM), SPDRS (SPY) , DIAMONDS (DIA) and no-load index funds. Each of these products has their own characteristics of leverage, commission costs and transaction fees, which must be considered when planning an investment. Some provide the ability to trade both the long and short side of market movement and some do not.

Once again we stress that individual investment objectives and financial circumstances determine which types of investment are appropriate for each individual and we make no specific recommendations for individuals here.

Analysis:
Our signals are accompanied by a written analysis which is essential to interpreting the signal and this analysis should be read in its entirety.

Signal Codes:
BS - Buy Signal ..... our action is to buy in short positions and add long positions
SS - Sell Signal ......our action is to sell out long positions and add short positions
CS - Cover Signal ....our action is to close all positions and stand aside

Dates:
Our signals are dated and accompanied by anticipated dates for next signal. These are very important when considering whether to put on new positions or wait for a fresh signal, and for money management techniques such as stop-loss points and profit taking.

Elliott Wave:
In developing our GTSOSC pattern recognition timing system, we have been strongly influenced by the writings of Robert Prechter, the founder of Elliott Wave International. For an introduction to, or in depth study of, the Elliott Wave Principle and how it explains market cycles and their relationship to human emotions we recommend the resources available at EWI.

Elliott Wave International's tutorial is the most comprehensive introduction to the Elliott Wave Principle available in cyberspace. All ten lessons have been adapted from Prechter and Frost’s Wall Street bestseller, Elliott Wave Principle - Key to Market Behavior.
